How it works

A journey in three stops

1

Get on board

Pick a line – from crisp tile networks to delicate mandalas. Ride time and difficulty are printed on every page.

2

Color

Tubes, arcs, ripples and stations: every space is cleanly closed and large enough for pencils and fineliners.

3

Arrive

Validate the station, on to the next stop. At the last stop your honorary passenger certificate is waiting.

From warm-up to master class

1

Classic Line

Free-flowing networks, ladder tubes and winding arcs: a city that never stands still – and still finds its calm.

2

Mirror Line

Everything here has a twin. Symmetrical networks and calm curves – perfect for steady, meditative color rhythms.

3

Tile Line

Straight edges, crisp angles and a diamond lattice like old station tiles. For everyone who loves order.

4

Rosette Ring

Turned four times, whole once: rosettes of lines circling a center like the hands of a station clock.

5

Labyrinth Line

Wide tubes, big curves, lots of crossings: getting lost is allowed here. Large spaces, quick wins.

6

Ornament Line

For lovers of detail: fine flower grids, diamonds and many small cells. Keep your sharpest pencils ready.

7

Mandala Express

Rings and spokes around a glowing center – the master class at the end of the journey.

Who is it for?

Mindful unwinding

Repeating shapes, clean lines, calm rhythm – coloring as meditation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which pens work best?

Colored pencils, fineliners and markers. All pages are single-sided with blank backs. With markers, slip a sheet of card underneath anyway.

How difficult are the pages?

Every page shows ride time (approximate coloring time) and route (one to three dots). The Labyrinth Line is relaxed, the Ornament and Mandala lines are delicate.

Are these real subway maps?

No – all lines, stations and places are fictional: an artistic homage to the aesthetics of classic transit maps.

How do I get the Night Express?

There is a QR code at the back of the book. It leads to the bonus page with six landscape stations to print.

Is there a German edition?

Yes, as a separate edition “MetroArt – Das kunstvolle U-Bahn-Malbuch” on amazon.de.

All aboard.
